audience s eyes to make sure the characters explain things in layman s terms sometimes it feels patronizing Not so much this time with the scientists slipping back into the technical talk frequently and the audience perspective character bringing them back down to the Action movie version That whole conversation was fantastic Not only that but the scientific explanation also advanced the plot We found out what the big bad of the series really was and our characters all have a concrete thing they are working towards now which brings the whole thing together a lot better There is a goal at the midway point the confusion has been lifted And then a bunch of people die in the name of that end goal The action picks up just as the explanations end and the setup for the second arc is done Now all that s left is to save the world Related Posts October 18 2014 Rachel Rising Vol 3 Cemetery Songs Review Review Comic Minute Since the introduction of the devil I think this volume has actually started making less sense As near as I can figure the women are reincarnated witches but I October 15 2014 Alex Ada Vol 1 Review There is a certain feeling that comes with a Luna book It s people in their mid to late 20s trying to figure out their shit with some fantastical element thrown in that serves as a August 18 2014 John Constantine Hellblazer Vol 4 Family Man Review I am slowly working through all of the Hellblazer books via these huge collections and they are all very dense reads There s just always a lot of stuff happening in them and it has that October 4 2014 Gunnerkrigg Court Vol 4 Materia Review Yes I bought volume

more than one or two events an issue Uwritten 9 The great and magical jailbreak I loved it I really did All of the pieces are falling into place though the Harry Potter parallels are getting a little strong now that we have both a know it all brunette and a redhead with a smart mouth and comic relief value Now I need to decide whether I want to continue this in issues or trades but I think trades for this one might be best I want to reread the story and my issues don t hold up well on transit Weekly World News 1 Ed Anger is amazing He s the crazy folk you see yelling at everything he doesn t like for being un American and angry because now aliens intelligent apes and Bat Boy Who doesn t seem to be able to close his mouth for some reason are even in the country Although once again my favourite is the alien All level headed and a lovely foil he s fun And the minute for the week comic daytripper dingo echo unwritten video weekly world news Reviews Comic Run 12 11 09 December 11 2009 Shea Leave a comment It s been a while since I ve done one of these eh Well time to get right back into it Daytripper 1 Um I don t really know how to digest this one With a title like Daytripper and all of this build up about how he s a writer and references to all sorts of things all over the place and whatnot that ending has me incredibly confused The build up was I thought to something vaguely supernatural starting to happen Was that a one shot Echo 17 You know for an issue that was essentially an information dump it wasn t that bad I understand none of the science explained save for the bits that were teh action movie version but I now know the history of Annie The whole thing is just guys sitting around and talking and while I m sure it was important I m a little anxious for the story and action to start picking up again God Complex 1 It was a good bit of fun first issue to the series which is good considering how much of it I d seen from Oeming pimping it The two page spreads with dark boarders kept throwing me off and I wasn t sure where my eyes were supposed to go from panel to panel as the whole bloody thing is kind of dark and it s hard to tell but the story of a modern day pantheon of Greek gods is always fun and one who quits to the ire of everyone else just makes it better Although I do have to note one rather annoying thing Whoever was doing the lettering wasn t paying attention Typos Obvious typos and an error with setting the characters in a line of dialogue

over While Rose s story and Snow s do have a lot of intersection they feel completely separate Bigby is off on his own Winter is off on her own being awesome while still home and in bed on time Therese is probably going to go off and have more adventures that will be completely ignored Getting Fabletown setup and the things hiding in the castle that they haven t found yet has been glossed over There s a quick single issue about a band going off and having adventures that could have been its own thing Without a focus the whole thing feels disjointed With the end of the war there was an ending Now it feels like it s desperately trying to find footing again and it can t quite get the antagonist in order to do so It did have the bonus of a Boy Blue cameo and Blue saying all the things I wanted him to say 1 He s never coming back Not really And his death continues to actually have an emotional impact because of that And he thinks this cult of Boy Blue is stupid too It is nice to see that Willingham is starting to break out of some of the habits that I m getting irritated by He s starting to play with gender roles a little and Bo Peep is the first woman who is both married and might actually be able to do something non female oriented in the plot This might be because she doesn t have children but I will take what I can get at this point 2 I m just waiting for the setup to be over It s gotten to the point where I m not so much enjoying the read anymore as I
