  • Teacher Alternative Certification, Principal Alternative Certification, Counselor Alternative Certification - Education Service Center - Region 19
    Preparation and Certification Program TPCP was originally implemented to prepare non certified teachers to fill shortages in critical need areas and to provide entry into the teaching profession for qualified individuals wishing to make a career change This program is an intense 12 to 18 month field based training model in which competencies are learned from a variety of specialists Tuition for the program is 4 400 Upon completion of preservice observations passing of the TExES content exam and a commitment to on going training during the school year participants are eligible to be employed as a teacher of record for the school year internship year Upon successful completion of all program requirements student teaching program and district recommendations and a passing score on all necessary TExES exams participants will earn a Texas teaching certificate specific to their area of study All information is subject to change based on State Board of Educator Certification rules The ESC Region 19 Teacher Preparation and Certification Program complies with and meets federal guidelines as mandated by the No Child Left Behind legislation Certification Areas Step by Step Application Process Education Service Center Region 19 does not discriminate on the basis of race color
