    Email Services eRate Support Internet Access Internet Filtering Interactive TV Network ITV KACE Help Desk Technology Planning Web Hosting Applications accepted January 4 March 31 2016 NONTRADITIONAL DEAF EDUCATION CERTIFICATION PROGRAM Click Applications accepted January 4 March 31 2016 for application form PROJECT OVERVIEW The purpose of this Program is to provide q u ality nontraditional training to selected in d ividu a ls t h roughout t h e state of Te x as that will l e ad to an i n cr e ase in t h e nu m ber of highly qu a li f ied and cer t ified t eac h e r s s erving s tude nt s who are d e af o r hard of hearing in the s t ate of Texa s The Program is one year in length June May The focus of the course work training and experiences within the curricula provide a non traditional approach in teacher training and prepares participants to meet competency standards for certification through the Texas Examination of Educator Standards TExES 181 for Deaf Hard of Hearing Participants will earn 27 hours of graduate credit through Texas Tech University College of Education T h e majority of t h e curriculum and t r aining will be p r ovided through an electro n ic means v ia Web b a sed i n struction such as B l ackb o ard and five Saturday TETNs during the year hosted by the ESCs in the applicant s region of residence Ongoing communication by the program coordinator with Re g ional Day Schools f o r t h e Deaf throughout the state will facilitate access to ex p eriences with students who are deaf or h ard of hearin g
